Hello everyone and as always let me begin by spreading my gratitude to Anna, Mary, Louise and Sarah for your thoughts and comments, likes, loves and shares. For those who are reading and enjoying, do feel free to say hello and I'd gladly mention you too and do share if you enjoy my musings :)
Well, let us say that I did get a few things done today but did have shenanigans with those OTP's earlier. No doubt some of you are thinking, ooh what's that then and for those who are not aware it's a one time password. Such things can bring you out in a cold sweat and can drive you loopy. Ah, but Gary, you are a Reiki master are you not, remember the precepts just for today do not anger, do not worry...
Of course, you are right but they do test your resolve. First, you're under pressure to get it right. I believe it's 3 attempts and then a lock out and ringing up the bank to get it unlocked. Second, for me I have to hunt down my old phone and find the password as I've yet to migrate it over as it's another phone call to do that and I baulk at that prospect. Third, you have to wait for what seems an interminable amount of time for the digital key to arrive.
Oh for the old days when things were so much simpler. I totally understand why they have to do this but it does wear a bit thin. I also understand they may well start buzzing us OTPs when we are out shopping. Imagine, here you are at the petrol station to fill up with fuel and you get the dreaded OTP request. Methinks I shall just pay cash if that comes to pass (although that would be quite a bit of cash at the present time I have to say!)
I've missed being at the centre this weekend but needless to say I shall be back in full flow next weekend. I'll also be doing a little reiki gathering on the Sunday where we'll be doing a variety of things with Reiki, meditations, empowerments and much more. Last time was a really enjoyable successful day and really looking forward to it. If any of you are Reiki attuned and fancy giving it a go let me know and I'll give you the details. It is on Mothers Day though so you may have plans already but if not, why not come along?
Right, let's check the annals from yesteryear and see what is lurking in my old files...This batty old tale did get published but I fear the online publication has perished :(
Bubbles and Rain.
Claudette shivered by a rock. A strange creature sitting on a silver dinosaur lurched to the top of the hill.
The contraption stopped. The rider twirled a few gauges. She listened.
“Come on, make some clouds.”
His voice was soft yet assertive. Claudette danced from her rocky outcrop, her fear dispersed.
“Who are you?”
The figure turned. He slipped open a visor. A pair of wrinkled eyes stared back.
“I didn’t see you child. I’m Francois, from the university.”
He removed his battered helm.
“What is it?”
“The Rainmaker, this machine makes clouds and water.”
“I thought only God could do miracles.”
“The priests in the Abbey would agree with you. However, I have been methodical with my calculations. The tub is the secret.”
She followed the professor’s finger to a copper container.
“The vessel is stuffed with grapes and sugar. Now, stand back whilst I pull this lever.”
The machine began to whine.
“It isn’t supposed to do that. Stop, oh dear.”
The vat exploded. Metal scraps rained instead of water. The flushed Professor shrank into his seat.
“I’ve failed.”
Claudette skipped to the tub and giggled at the sight of bubbles. She dipped her finger into the liquid.
“Stop,” shrieked the Professor.
“Delicious.”
Francois formed a cup with his hands and imbibed the strange water.
“I have to say this is quite wonderful. Whatever shall I call it?”
Claudette remembered her village.
“How about Champagne?”
