The four horsemen

Greetings all and the rain certainly made its presence felt and as I dare to look outside it may well be another day of drenchery. Ah, a new word, put that it in the vocabulary that is of spurious content! Right, let's spread the kudos, love and gratitude to Anna, Jo, Shilpa and Russell for stopping by and spreading the love, shares, comments, likes and of course reading my previous post.

I feel today's a good day to reflect on what's come our way over the past few years and the seismic changes that have come our way. It certainly can test our faith and cause a few ructions in our energy system. The four horsemen of the apocalypse have made their presence felt that's for sure.

First would be Plague. You'd have to be hiding on a distant rock in the middle of a vast ocean not to have heard of Covid. It's certainly a heinous condition that pervaded our species and it's shown the best and worst of us. We've seen restrictions observed by many but not by those in the upper echelons (one rule for you, one for us), advances, pro and anti vaxxers (I'm not going down that rabbit hole) and a chance for everyone to slow down as well as great tragedy.

Then we have War. This planet is always bubbling away with conflicts ever taking place but it took off to a whole new level when Russia decided to invade. A truly pointless adventure to stroke one man's ego and the devastation and misery caused by this affront to humanity continues still. Throw in the threat of nuclear weapons and it naturally concerns every being on the planet, for the only thing guaranteed in a nuclear holocaust is the end of life in all corners of this globe of ours.

Then there's Famine. This one is a slow burner but with war causing havoc we've got an energy crisis, cost of living crisis which is pushing up prices everywhere. This is turn will and has led to famine which will affect each one of us in some way. Totally avoidable and many venal individuals are profiting on others misery. By working hand in hand with Death, this horseman is readying his scythe to make merry unless we change our ways. A world without money people, imagine how wonderful that would be but totally unrealistic.

Finally we have Death. He's been quite lazy for he can just sit back and let Plague, War and Famine do the hard work for him. He certainly has had a merry old time adding to his collection and always has room for more. He casts his eyes for fresh opportunities and humanities baser nature never fails to add more coffers to his mighty reserves.

As for us souls it has been a struggle. All this angst can cause a variety of triggers within us from fear, anxiety, paranoia, rage, selfishness and many many more attributes that have been foisted down on us. What can we do about it though? For me, we must concentrate on the good, that's our way of combating the feelings and emotions that can emanate from this assault that's been sent our way. For the four horsemen, let's think of the opposite and invite those aspects of Health, Peace, Abundance and Life and chuck lots of love too. Who knows, if we start living with those precepts, then just maybe, we can and will get through this.

So a bit of a deep post today and I do hope it's prompted a bit of positivity right at the end there. Have a beautiful Saturday and before I go, here's three things to be grateful for today.

  1. The breath

  2. Our Tribe

  3. Kindness
