Take it easy

Greetings all and first up let me thank Anna, Jo, Bridgette, Vanessa, Fabiola, Mary and Tracy for stopping by and commenting, sharing, like/loving my latest post. Blessings to each and every one of you and to those who read and kept quiet. It's all very much appreciated.

It seems at the moment that everything is slowing down a bit and I cannot help but think that in our lives we need this from time to time before we go again. Imagine if you will where you are buzzing around like some demented whirligig until eventually you've got zero power in the battery pack. Methinks many of us are going through this right now so my advice to you is do take the time to have a recharge and a bit of me time. We all need it from time to time.

There isn't much to report in this old brain today but I did enjoy another episode of the universe. This time it was about potential alien life and it's my belief that there is plenty of it out there. I'm pretty sure they'll find quite a bit in our own solar system but it will almost certainly be very simplistic life but who knows what we'll find when we land on one of those distant moons such as Europa or delve a bit deeper into those planets.

The case for more advanced life throws open a whole new modus operandi. Here, we will almost certainly have to travel to another star and the nearest one is quite a way from us. Then we have to find exactly the right environment for advanced life to thrive and just maybe it can happen. The axiom that comes to mind though is for biological life forms to arrive there or to come here are unlikely. What was proposed was that it's far more likely that machines from a distant realm will visit us or for us to send machines elsewhere. When you think about it, we are already doing to quite a degree on Mars. Certainly gives you food for thought does it not?

Well, time to delve into the archives once again. Let's see what pops forth.

Open eyes.

Rise. Wash. Eat appropriate cereal. Imbibe two glasses of water; correctly treated. Thank partner. Admonish child. Wave goodbye. Three minutes to contact point. Grey sky as usual. Coach waits. Greet driver, take seat on third row. Say nothing to passengers. Prepare for full day performance. Acknowledge new target and apply parameters for achievement. Close eyes. Engage rest mode for twenty two minutes and fifty five seconds. Speck of blue in grey sky: irregular.

Unforeseen circumstance. Vehicle delayed. Inspection. Questioned by security service. Anomaly alert in vicinity. Security satisfied with response. Delay, fifteen minutes. Ingestion time at employment to be shortened to accommodate workload. Transmission engaged. Speed limit observed.

March to door. Swipe in. Receive orders. Proceed with alacrity. Do not speak. Pace at optimum. Interruption. Unexpected broadcast on P.A. system. Management unable to re-install subservient music program.

“Listen. Wake up, there’s a bright day dawning everyone. We’ve found the grey lanterns and are turning them off. Look outside, it’s a world of blue out there.”

Pause. Unusual thought process. Irrational. Must get back to work. Yet...perhaps look out the window. Not alone. All have stopped. Overseer on communication module: “Return to work, behind target.”

Disobedient thought process. All go to window. Bright object in sky. Not seen before. The Sun. Initiates strange feelings. Happiness and rebellion? Never experienced before. Message in sky.

Rise up, be free.

Overseer comes. Falls to the mob. The grey lanterns. What are they? Don’t know. Leave. Converge with colleagues. What is freedom?
