Smile, don't snarl.

Hello dear friends and I do hope you've had a rather splendid day. I must admit that mine has been wonderful with Jo being most excellent company for the Angelic Reiki Professional Practitioners workshop today. Anyway, without further ado let me spread the love, kudos and gratitude to Anna, Shilpa, Jo and Russell for stopping by on my previous post.

Today my thoughts turn to that of happiness. I'm a firm believer in that we are masters of our own energy and it's up to us to denote on how we feel during the day. Of course, external influences can be a major challenge to this particular sensation but if we can find a way to be in charge of how we choose to be during our lives then that is quite a boon. Here's a simple list of things that we can do our best to take charge of whether we choose to be happy.

  1. Don't snarl, smile. Sounds easy but not always the case. In our lives people will come along to bring irritation and if we're not careful it will come out of us as rather a negative expression. Let's catch that snarl and do our utmost to smile instead.

  2. Do something you love. There's nothing better than improving our mood by doing something we enjoy. Find something you look forward to each day and take the time to savour every moment.

  3. Express gratitude. Find the time to express gratitude for three things that have happened to you every day. There's a fine skill to put that synergetic energy out to the universe

  4. At least ten minutes dedicated to a bit of "you" time. Make sure you give yourself a top of something that benefits you. Maybe a nice long bath, some pampering, a touch of healing/meditation or dare I say a fine bar of chocolate.

  5. Have a talk with a friend. A beautiful way to share your thoughts with the company of somebody else. One of the good things of Social Media is the way we can interact with people no matter how far they are away. I would still say face to face is the best way but of course not always possible.

  6. Take a healthy walk. A fine way of upping our mood is to take an amble in the countryside. With friends or alone is just as good and almost guaranteed to let those unwanted vibes stroll out your life for a while.

  7. Read a splendid book. Lose yourself in a world of imagination with a good read. A bit of escapism is most welcome at times and if you struggle to read then why not a darn good film to keep you entertained.

So there we have it, a few ideas to keep you entertained and by all means please feel free to share your own tips on raising a smile or two. It's most welcome and of course, speaking of gratitude, time to practice what I preach.

  1. A fab day of working with Jo with Angelic Reiki

  2. The advent of teaching Usui Reiki to four lovely souls tomorrow

  3. Another good solid hour of learning German
