Hello dear friends and it looks like our lovely rain has returned. On that note let's spread the love and gratitude to Anna, Shilpa and Jo for stopping by and reading my latest thoughts and liking, loving and sharing away. I must confess that over on Facebook it's very quiet and the only notifications I get these days seem to be about Wordle which is a serious subject but not quite what I was hoping for although I think a few readers are starting to trickle through from Pinterest. If you are from Pinterest reading this then give us a thumbs up in the comments and I'll gladly acknowledge you.
Anyway, today my thoughts turn to Reiki and not just the healing aspects. When people look up Reiki they will see many of the virtues of the benefits it can bring to our health which is rather splendid and I'm certainly not going to disagree about that but in this day and age we can do so much more with it than focusing on just the healing aspects.
Reiki is a magical energy that's there for us all once we tap into it. Here's the thing though, when Mikao Usui first brought this light in, the aspect of healing others was very much a secondary benefit. The whole point was about bringing this energy forward to help with our own enlightenment and it's such a pity that this tenet appears to have fallen down the levels of importance with regards to how Reiki is portrayed.
I'd love to know other Reiki practitioners thoughts on this. Many of us get obsessed about bringing healing to others but seem to be a touch quieter on the self aspect. It's understandable. If you look at most advertisements extoling the virtues of Reiki it will predominantly focus on the healing others which of course will be what people are drawn. I'm not suggesting we change the wording there but why not bring the enlightenment virtue through too?
And let's get creative. We can bring Reiki into our lives in so many different ways, be it from beaming energy into our food and drink. The way we can light up the mood in a house, a room or using it to tap into your own awareness and dare I say psychic gifts. Or even if it's just saying, I'd love to bring some Reiki into my day or Reiki a list of items you'd love to bring into your life. Who knows what you might just bring forward.
I shall end on that note and remember bring that Reiki light into whatever you wish to do today. Remember, keep reading and here's my personal three things to be grateful for.
Watching an old film called se7en and it's got quite the sting in the tail.
More knowledge on Pinterest and putting some more thoughts out there.
The magic of the subjects I've brought into my life over the last few years.
