Hey, thought this Reiki turned me into Jesus!

Hello dear friends, as I look outside it's rather inclement and yet the onset of some bright days are looming I do believe. First up let's spread the love and kudos to Anna, Shilpa, Jo, Russell and Vicky for stopping on by on my previous post.

I've had the pleasure over the last two days to be able to teach a few tenets of both Angelic Reiki and Usui Reiki. It's quite a privilege to pass on this knowledge to help these lovely participants on their personal evolution. Even though I've attuned/empowered a good number of students, I still get the same excitement as when I did my very first one and that's how it should be.

There is a common misconception however. When Reiki really took off and I imagine this would be in the mid 90's and early 2000's there was a real sense that what matters is becoming an amazing healer with Godlike powers. Now, I won't disagree that Reiki does indeed offer us the chance to help greatly with many things but I should like to steer us away from the healing aspect and to what in my opinion Reiki is all about.

It's about our own enlightenment, stepping into what we are truly about and seeing the world a bit different from how we did before. It is quite often a profound experience. I know when I was first attuned there was a real sense of wonder and amazement of how things truly are. It is quite often the case that the very same sense I got from this is reflected upon those I've had the joy of teaching.

My first Reiki teacher, June, has so much knowledge and she taught me to trust intuition and explore the state of flow when working with Reiki. This is how life ought to be and if we can move that state of flowing energy into our daily lives then that's quite a good place to be. Angelic Reiki attunements also elicited a similar state of being and it's a beautiful gift we can all enjoy.

The healing that we can offer certainly is a boon. However, like anything, we have to take care of the vessel that the energy comes from. There's not much point drinking from a broken glass unless you wish for a cut lips and a wet lap. The same can be said of any healing modality, we must take care of ourselves first before we allow the energy to flow to somewhere else. It's not always easy and over time I'll explore those elusive Reiki precepts which sound so simple yet are rather difficult to apply in our everyday lives.

So there we are, if you've considered Reiki and what to delve a bit more then please do get in touch. Let's really kick of the Reiki revolution that is slowly building momentum and be the change in this world, it certainly needs it.

Things to be grateful for today.

  1. A wonderful weekend of teaching

  2. Another week of learning German

  3. A jolly good rest
