Corona fury

Greetings all and let me first say thank you to Anna, Shilpa, Jo, Fabiola, Roni and Mary(LinkedIn) for popping by and commenting, liking/loving and sharing my latest posts. Love as always to each and every one of you.

My wanderings today lead me to the realm of Corona. No doubt many of you are looking to see what pearls of wisdom I'm about to shed about Covid but nay. My curiosity goes far beyond the pandemic and instead to something that is far more dangerous to our well being than that. Some of you may be raising your eyebrows to what on Earth I'm wittering about and I would respond, let us leave Earth for we are going out a bit from our planet, approximately 93,000,000 miles or so.

This will lead you to look at that solar parent of ours who goes through quite a bit of turbulence each and every day. Upon the surface of the sun there is tremendous upheaval and the there are a multitude of sunspots which contain rather a hoard of energy just waiting to be released in a plume of extreme violence. This version of sol acne can burst at dazzling speeds and is known as Coronal Mass Ejections and have the capacity to pretty much knock out all those satellites, electrical devices and so much more.

A couple of hundred years ago our society could handle such a situation for in those days there were no mobile phones, computers, televisions and so forth. The thing is the CME if it were powerful enough and aimed in the right place would put paid to that and our communities in these lazy times is ill equipped to handle such a plight. We'd find ourselves regressing and those things we take for granted from running water, shopping trips, switching the lighting on, cooking your meals, heating the house would be rendered redundant.

Think on that for a moment. There would be scenes of anarchy, panic and in all honesty a substantial risk to the advancement of the human race. Covid has caused havoc, no doubt about that but a real burst of Corona energy would be far more catastrophic. Never underestimate the power of the sun everyone, it's the giver of life but also the taker of the Earth's existence once the time comes.

There is however no cause for immediate panic but one day the reality of a CME may well come to pass. Whilst chaos would almost certainly ensue it could well also force mankind to take a step back and look to see exactly what their role is upon this Earth. Perhaps, in the grand scheme of all things that would be exactly what is needed, but it would come at a colossal cost.

On that note I shall leave you to ponder the wonders of our nearest star. Enjoy your weekend everyone :)
