Breathe with me

Writer's picture: Gary HewittGary Hewitt

Greetings all and first up let's say thank you to Anna, Shilpa, Dawn, Sarah, Janet, Amanda and Colin for reading, commenting, sharing my last blog post. As always it's much appreciated.

What shall I muse about today I wonder. Well, I've just done a lovely qi gong set which is quite relaxing but challenging in places. I'm feeling it in my abs funny enough which is not a bad thing at all and the legs get a good stretch too as well as being quite meditative as you do the movements. I haven't done it the last couple of days as my focus has been on Angelic Reiki but firmly back in the groove now.

On a more sombre note I am drawn back to that ghastly conflict in Ukraine. It is such a tragedy that the poor woman who was heavily pregnant has passed away as well as her still born baby. It's is just so upsetting and we are powerless to do anything to stop these atrocities. The heinous crimes of this war continue and no matter who wins, humanity loses in this savagery. Why does mankind never learn and return to his baser nature? Those looking down at us must truly despair right now.

I shall take my attention back to my humble place by the pc as I type this and ponder about the morrow. The purpose of this little blog of mine is to wake up that sleepy muse and I'm being pulled back to that nano project I started like a house on fire back in November before I ran out of steam. There are no excuses as I've got it all planned out but the itch is back so let's go and scratch it, even if just a little bit, it's a bit of a send up and a humurous affair. A few words each day and the word count will eat away is my motto. Little bursts of twenty minutes can get quite a bit done, so if you see these strange numbers going up on my status you'll know I'm back into some sort of flow. I must remind myself that the first part is just about dumping words onto the page, the crafting and editing comes far, far, later

Let's end with a teeny poem shall we

I woke up with a start

Alarm had spiked the heart

Saw a brand new day

Along with sunny ray

Tootled down the stairs

With very little cares

Went and watched the news

That had lots of views

Capered to the door

Breathed in sun once more

Flounced along the path

Looking rather daft

Didn't care to worry

Wasn't in a hurry

Morning soon went by

For once the weather dry

Afternoon arrived

Dinner did decide

A van of fish and chips

To where I had to flip

Snared a hearty feast

Fat spared not the least

Vinegar kissed some salt

The taste I couldn't fault

Went and played with canva

Drank from clean decanter

Now I type this verse

Let's not make it worse.
