Back to the old manor

Greetings all and first up thank you to Anna, Shilpa, Jo and Sarah for popping along to my blog post yesterday. It's awesome to see you come along and read my humble musings as always.

Well, tomorrow I am heading off back to London for an experience at the Royal Albert Hall. It was something arranged a while ago and unfortunately the person I was going to go with originally is unable to make it now. It's a real shame as they would have enjoyed it immensely but these things happen and after much frantic dashing around I've linked up with a friend back in London which makes things much easier for them to join up. I've not seen them for goodness knows how long, probably about 30 years or more...oh my goodness, I'm ancient.

It ought to be quite straight forward to get there as I'll get the train from Lenham which goes right into Victoria and then a bunny hop along the circle line into South Kensington. On another note, in another world I used to work at the bank for a summer job just up the road from the tube station. I would have been 17 at the time and we truly are time travelling when we look back. I may well tread the trail to my former workplace and the bones that will walk that path are considerably older now.

There's also the museums around there too and I shall endeavour to make a bit of a day of it before the show. The last time I was a visitor to the museums must have been back in my school days. I used to love going there and there's so much to see with the Natural History, Science and there used to be the Geology museum but I think that's been swallowed up now. I know I'll only be making a pit stop there really as you'd need a good couple of days to soak it all in but I'm certainly looking forward to it.

I'm glad I'm not driving up there mind. I've heard London is a bit of a mare these days with congestion charges all over the shop and 20mph limits everywhere. It'd take forever to poodle through central London and then have the onerous pleasure of trying to find somewhere to park. It ought to be quieter on the tube though, I can well recall those halcyon days of leaping on squashed carriages in London Bridge. All good fun for sure.

Well I shall leave it there for now. London calls for one of its own to return and I shall for one day go back to my old homeland. Room for one more Cockney for a day dear London?
