And a tiny tad off the temperature

Greetings all and it's just that little bit cooler today thankfully but still have to say it's quite warm but much more bearable. Anyway, let's share the love and gratitude to Marion, Anna, Natalie, Sarah, Dan, Jo, Shilpa and Mary, plus any others that have escaped my keyboard. You are so welcome to read my thoughts and help get my message out there.

I noticed last night that a bug or two has taken a shine to my blood. A couple of nice juicy bite marks illuminate my palm and forearm and I guess they must consider me quite tasty. It must be the heat making them a touch ravenous and nothing better than a cup of G in the afternoon! The joys of summer methinks.

I have to say that last night in group it was quite tough with the heat. We was all struggling with the temperature and there was just no air. Somehow we managed to get through it all and I salute you all, proper troopers the lot of you and some great work too. It's Marion's turn tonight and thankfully the temperature is far more pleasant and should help with a boost to our energy levels rather than the lethargy we've been going through of late. It's going to cool down to much more sociable levels in the early to mid twenties by the end of the week which for me is just about perfect.

Hmm, what to write about now then. Well, talking to Marion earlier we stumbled on the idea of Weaving wizards and warped witches. Marion said there's a story just waiting to be told and I shall set my intention on that over the next few months along with everything else. In the meantime, let's hatch a bite of writing in a similar vein shall we.

He picked up the script by the door and ignited it with a simple spell. He learned over the years that wisdom evoked the removal of all signs of the Dredges of Lillith. Craig instructed his acolytes to pour forward and summoned a skull flayer to be on guard.

"See here for yourself what we are up against. These creatures may be low born but the dark magic they wield is potent and fatal. Their base nature encourages them to indulge in faithless cruelty, vile divination and spells that can eviscerate the unwary."

Craig glanced at the gathering crowd of fascinated would be enchanters. Many came for the glory of a fine stipend and the kudos of being in the wizard's chapter. Craig didn't much go for the latest intake. Maybe two might be worth considering yet most were absorbed in frippery and nonsense. To be a true wizard meant confronting abominations and eradicating the curse of the ever-growing threat of witchcraft.

Before, the witches indulged in nothing but a simple curse or two but in the last few decades they consorted with Lillith. Lillith, the mother of all demons and she exacted a heavy price for the use of her power and pride. Blood sacrifices had grown exponentially. Craig was most disturbed of late of rumours of an alliance with Lillith and Belial. Even the most battle hardened arch mage would be ill set to do battle with those leviathans.

In the meantime, these new intakes would be put through their paces. The Dredges of Lillith were mere foot soldiers. Yet for Craig's acolytes they would be a harsh, brutal challenge. He doubted his full retinue of twelve would return to their quarters. Craig's eyes flared in sapphire fire when he heard the sound of a hound snarling a challenge in the chamber ahead. He chose two apprentices skulking at the back to scout. Funny, earlier they'd been boasting about fireballs and lightning and now, they'd be facing a hade hound or two.

"Good luck," he chuckled as they headed to a fiery portal.
