Greetings all and trust all is well with everyone. First up as always here's a shout out to Anna, Shilpa, Jo, Marion, Sarah and Mary(LinkedIn) for popping along to my post yesterday. Always a pleasure to have you guys come my way and huge love to you all. You are all fantabulousticalmagicalspecialamarvellous. No surprise I've just broken the spell checker!

Yesterday I had the onerous pleasure of someone trying to be me. I mean there are plenty of souls on this planet and perhaps I ought to be flattered but no for they are of a nefarious nature. What I did was a facebook live on my profile and afterwards whilst relaxing I saw my name put a comment upon my live. Now, I may have some talents but I haven't quite mastered the art of telekinesis to type upon my keyboard. I donned my deerstalker and lo and behold there was a facsimile of myself saying contact me for a spell and reading or some such nonsense.
What these rapscallions do is to copy the profile pic, copy the profile's name and voila one fake account. It's so easy. Luckily, I acted swiftly, alerted the people I know my doppleganger contacted and blocked and removed the offending comments. Alas, Streamyard doesn't give me much control at the time. In future I will revert back to my readings page as I can block certain countries where these entities emanate from. All good fun.
Well, let's now turn my attention to the heading of today's entry. Now, before you ask, I have not participated in some sort of race or anything competitive. Nay, this relates to a subject raised by Shilpa about what's the best medium to use for writing a particular piece, ie first, second or third person perspective. Over the years I've used all these forms, and as you can see right now the perspective here is first person.
With storytelling you'd probably find the third person used a lot more, although I have done a few with the first perspective. As for the second person, well that's not used quite so much. It can work pretty well though in the right context and shall we have a little bit of fun. Let's picture a scene of us walking down a street and lo and behold right at the end a UFO lands and Gandalf leaps out asking for help in finding the one bean...oh and there's coffee which should please Marion :)
1st person. I'm in a bit of a rush. I spilt my milk on my sleeve yet no time to clean up. If I don't hustle I'll miss my bus. I see Mrs. Perkins give me a bit of a sly look when I snicker by. No doubt the gossip queen will be relating my tardiness to her little clique later. Oh my, there's a bright light coming down ahead of me. I've never quite seen anything like it and my legs turn to elastic twines of peppered noodles. I'm looking at a craft of some kind and a ray of magenta beams down. A form of an addled wizard appears in the mist and he glares at me in some concern.
"I'm looking for the one bean. Have you seen it? It's the end of the universe if you haven't."
I shake my head, squeeze past the barmy one and head for the bus. Funny though, I did think it was odd to see a multicoloured bean in my coffee pot. I thought it added quite a kick.
2nd person. You rush. You had no time to clean milk from your sleeve. You quicken your pace to catch the bus. You spot Mrs Perkins give you a sly look and acknowledge she will gossip about you later. You see a great light ahead. You've never seen anything like it before and you make out a strange craft. You witness a confused wizard emerge from a magenta beam.
"I'm looking for the one bean. Have you seen it? It's the end of the universe if you haven't."
You shake your head, squeeze past the lunatic and catch your bus. Funny though, you did think it odd to find a rainbow bean in your coffee pot. You thought it had quite the kick.
3rd Person. Tony Higgs overslept again. He dismissed the milk on his sleeve vowing to put his shirt in the wash tonight. He broke into a light jog. Mrs Perkins raised her nose at Tony's haste. She'd no doubt have plenty to talk about in her morning chat at the cake shop. Tony eased up for ahead a huge light emerged ahead of him. He struggled to peer into the radiance and witnessed a great craft. His legs turned to peppered noodles when a magenta beam rained down from the spaceship. Tony squinted and he discerned the shape of a an addled wizard.
"I'm looking for the one bean. Have you seen it? It's the end of the universe if you haven't." he said.
Tony shook his head and dashed by with all due haste. Never mind the universe, the 42 bus mattered more. Tony did recall the rainbow bean in his coffee pot earlier. Maybe that's why his drink felt a bit fiery this morning.
They've all got their strengths and weaknesses but personally I find the 3rd person works best in this instance but please do feel free to disagree. The great thing with writing is at times there is no right or wrong but what we feel works best.
On that note, I shall come to an end and bid you all sweet adieu. Remember everyone, keep sharing, liking, loving and above all keep reading. Much love.
